How does it work?

Sociomapping® is a unique toolkit which helps teams develop and become more effective. It combines solid analysis with interactive intervention in the team. It uses landscape as metaphor to show team’s interaction and dynamics in an easy-to-read way.

A typical Sociomapping project involves:

  • Analysis providing specific feedback on what to change in order to improve team work
  • A unique team workshop ending with a team development plan
  • Individual feedback on your position in the team and your work

Team Sociomapping is based on mutual evaluation and assessment of team members and teamwork. From this data various Sociomaps (visual models of the team) are computed. Sociomaps provide insight into the current and optimal situation of the team. They also provide specific tips for improvement and helps managers and team members to create a team development plan.

Team sociomapping output

Here is an example of Team Sociomapping output - a Sociomap of the effectiveness of communication.
Click on the grey menu buttons to see more interesting options of the visualization platform and critical communication channels recommended for improvement.

Position on the Sociomap: determines mutual importance of communication. The more important mutual communication, the closer the two people on the Sociomap; the less important mutual communication, the further apart they are from each other on the Sociomap.

Height on the Sociomap
: expresses the overall effectiveness of communication. The higher (red is the highest) , the more effective is the given person in communication with others.
